Super stereo headphone amplifier kit

The kit provides an easy way to listen to your audio source with your headphones when the manufacturer provided no headphone output. It's a superb quality headphone amplifier kit with multiple outputs, looping inputs, daisy chained amplifiers, and bass, treble, loudness control.

The kit runs on a 9 volt battery or a 12-20 VDC external power supply. Includes separate volume, treble, bass, balance and loudness controls and a signal level clipping indicator LED. The clipping detector circuit watches the headphone output signal and flashes the LED when the output signal comes close to the maximum level.

At the heart of the circuit is an LM1036 (a dual DC operated tone/volume/balance IC), providing the control of all the major functions of the unit including volume, tone, balance and loudness. After being processed the signal is sent to the output amplifiers made with two LM386N ICs. The LM386N IC is a fully integrated, efficient audio amplifier with great fidelity, capable of driving low impedance loads and requiring very few external components.
